Presentation summary:
Introduction to TxtWeb (http://www.txtweb.com) - developing SMS apps
for billions. In this talk we will explore the TxtWeb platform, an
open platform where anyone with a mobile platform can consume
content (internet and txtweb only) by SMSing keywords to a
national number, and receive a response over SMS. The platform
providers ways to create content for the keyword via a txtweb
site, and as an alternative a way to map the keyword to an
external application that can service the keyword. Txtweb
translates HTML content from the application to a format
that is usable over SMS. Txtweb is available in India, USA
and Canada. This talk with feature a few slides and also has
code and demo of apps that be built with txtweb.
About the Speaker:
Manoj Bharadwaj is a software developer at Intuit. He has previously
worked at Lulu, Peek, Adchemy and ThoughtWorks.
Manoj, at Peek, worked for their startup in India and was the technical
person in charge of launching a data only (email) device (
http://www.getpeek.in).
During that tenure he got fascinated with SMS and the potential of text
