Folks, I was TriJUG secretary 2006-2011, and although I have no official standing now I'm continuing to administer and moderate the email lists through the end of this year as my personal interests and constraints move me away from TriJUG. So this is an unsolicited broadcast, but from somebody in the position to see the situation. From where I'm sitting TriJUG is in a delicate state. Without more people actively working to keep TriJUG going I'm afraid for its future. So if you care about TriJUG being around in the future, consider becoming involved with the board and/or volunteering to help with logistics. The organization is open for nominations and the board election is at the November meeting. Please consider helping. Here are the folks to seek out and talk to: President Lee Haslup Secretary William Zhou Program coordinator Rob Cameron Event coordinator Tim Dugan Treasurer Dennis Laws Webmaster Manon Laws Web developer Bhanu Tanti Bookmeister Jeanne Hiesel (Jeanne is on the board, but for some reason she's not listed on the web page) (Email addresses except for Jeanne are available at http://trijug.org/aboutus.jsp. Jeanne's address is in your previous mail to the list: search for ACM) I think I can state with confidence that many of these roles are negotiable, and it is the case anyway that elections are for board membership: what you do on the board is fully negotiable. But there's LOTS of room for volunteers too. Something as simple as getting cups/plates/napkins/ice to meetings can make a difference. Regards, Pete Soper
