This is an excerpt from an email sent to me....
"wanted to let everyone know that some local developers are starting a
chapter of Techgirlz in Raleigh. Techgirlz is a 501(c)3 nonprofit
dedicated to reducing and, they hope, ultimately eliminating the
gender gap in technology occupations. They hold workshops and an
annual entrepreneurial summer camp aimed at giving middle-school girls
hands-on experience with different kinds of technology and enable them
to interact with women who have carved out successful careers in
technology fields.

If you know a middle-school-aged girl who would be interested, their
kickoff event will be Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 6:30 PM to 8:30
