Selectable rows in a data grid

Does anyone have an example of an accessible datatable / datagrid with selectable rows? We're prototyping here and have tried quite a few techniques to get the row read by Voice Over (VO) as selected but to no avail. seems like VO support for aria-selected is sketchy so that was dead end.
