lues, and their societal impact

About the Workshop:
The growing influence of AI in our daily lives has transformed both the d=
igital landscape and the way we generate, extract and represent informati=
on. The surge in using Large Language Models (LLMs) not only in academia =
and industry but among the public, has made it increasingly important to =
address the alignment of AI tools to moral and cultural human values. Des=
pite ongoing governmental work on developing ethical guidelines and pract=
ical requirements for AI, for academic and industrial applications there =
is a particular importance to ensure that the research respective practic=
al methods follow ethical practices and that the outcomes do not conflict=
 with moral values. As hybridizing knowledge structures and semantic data=
 with generative AI has a high impact potential for the development of in=
creasingly more complex and intelligent systems, it becomes of the utmost=
 important that such innovation adheres to the EU=E2=80=99s objective of =
realizing AI applications that are dependable, robust, explicable, ethica=
lly guided, and therefore trustworthy.
The first edition of=C2=A0WISDOMS, the Workshop on Integrating the Semant=
ics of Data, Ontologies, Moral and cultural values and their Societal imp=
act, aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, pract=
itioners, and those curious enough to explore the convergence of ethics, =
socio-behavioral norms, moral and cultural values, with hybrid neuro-symb=
olic knowledge structures and generative AI.

We welcome diverse contributions including research papers, case studies,=
 and theoretical explorations that align with the workshop's themes. We a=
ccept four types of contributes:

=E2=80=A2 Short Papers=C2=A0(5-8 pages excluding references)
=E2=80=A2 Position Papers=C2=A0(1-4 pages excluding references, not inclu=
ded in the proceedings)
=E2=80=A2 Extended Abstract=C2=A0of recently published papers (1-4 pages =
excluding references, not included in the proceedings)


Submissions must be sent via=C2=A0Easychair=C2=A0and should be formatted =
in CEUR 1-column format (template available on workshop website).

=46or inclusion in the workshop, at least one of the authors of accepted =
papers needs to register at ESWC 2024 and participate on-site at WISDOMS.=
