I suggest you ignore both validator warnings (watch out for errors
instead) and W3Schools (look at the W3C specs instead; also note that
W3Schools is not affiliated with the W3C).

(There=E2=80=99s more to be said, but additional advice depends on many
variables in your project and context, most of which may not belong on
this list.)
