[historical question] Has the property "order-by" ever been supported by W3C XSL(T) ?

I've explored all versions of W3C XSL and W3C XSLT and there is no evidence that "order-by" is ever supported by one of those W3C publications ( or  somehow I misses something ?).

So I just have no idea about where did the obsoleted property "order-by" come from.

Could you give us your story about it.
