Session Recap & Recording 39th DCW CONVERSATION HOUR Dear Wikimedians, On behalf of the Deoband Community Wikimedia, thank you for joining our Conversation Hour with Nicole Ebber, Chief of Staff at Wikimedia Deutschland. In this session, we explored the Wikimedia Futures Lab , a collaborative process designed to foster movement belonging, analyze global trends, and shift the movement from passive observation to active testing of new strategies. A key takeaway was the call to flip the narrative from being impacted by AI to having a Wiki Impact. We also heard from community members who shared experiments born from the Futures Lab: - Chinmayee shared an experiment on how AI chatbots can positively contribute back to Wikipedia by identifying errors and fixing knowledge gaps. - Nitesh presented the hypothesis that appreciation leads to participation, exploring innovative ways to foster newcomer retention.
