That other people would take the tar (or more likely zip) and extract 
the mp3 and then redistribute was kind of my hope.  I mean, yeah, they'd 
be technically in violation, perhaps (there's always fair use), but so 
what.  Without a history section, in its entirety, you're already in 
violation anyway.  Was the plan for that to be read for every entry?

Anyway, embedding the license in the audio file itself is even better, 
if it's legal.  Would it be legal to embed the GFDL in a comment in a 
web page?

Finally, I wonder if RMS/FSF would consider adding a clause similar to 
the one in the GPL that "If distribution of [the document] is made by 
offering access to copy from a designated place, then offering 
equivalent access to copy the [text of the GFDL] from the same place 
counts as distribution of the [GFDL], even though third parties are not 
compelled to copy the source along with the object code."  It'd be a 
useful addition to the next version of the GFDL.  And isn't that 
basically what Wikipedia is doing now?  The GFDL isn't distributed with 
each copy of the article, it's merely made available on the site.
