Question about re-use

I have been thinking about audio-version of Wikipedia articles as well, but 
for a different reason.

I think there is still not enough audio materials for language learners on 
science, history, and many other topics. It would be good to have some of 
those in a freely distributable manner.

I thought about doing it for wikibook's japanese language lessons, but 
didn't know much about audio equipment, legal implications, etc. If you can 
share how-to's with others, that would be great.

Regarding the GFDL issue (though I'm not a lawyer): There is a possibility 
that reading an article could be copying in verbatim since the original is 
text, and the audio file is not a transparent copy of the original.
