[Bug 70255] Echo-notification-alert - unclear definition of alert

From this I instead conclude that: * message = anything triggered by Flow (or at least new posts on watched topics) * alerts = anything triggered by non-Flow (including messages left on the users talk page) * notifications = any of the above. If that is the case then alerts essentially become "system messages" (which is clearly distinguishable from notifications). Even so it would be good to have a clear definition of the three terms and how they differ from the Echo-team. That is crucial even, in order to make any type of accurate translation.
