Hi Alexander,
Thank you for the explanation. So, this issue needs to be fixed in Fink. There is nothing that I can or should do on my end. Let me know if my understanding is incorrect. Will the next version of Fink fix this?

Albert

Hi,
I installed fink and tried to install geda-gaf (fink install geda-gaf). But, it seems to fail with the message "Failed: phase compiling: python27-2.7.17-1 failed". I've attached the output from the terminal.

I'm using Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5, Xcode 11.2.1 and Xcode Tools 11.2.

Not sure if it helps, but I'm using python3 from miniConda. I believe python2.7 comes from Xcode.

Fink tries _not_ to use third-party stuff. geed-gaf wants Fink’s python27.

How can I fix this error?

Thanks,
Albert

This problem seems to show up every so often. I’ll strip away the unnecessary stuff from your successful package builds and display the error below:

Python build finished, but the necessary bits to build these modules were not found:
bsddb185 dl imageop
linuxaudiodev ossaudiodev spwd
sunaudiodev
To find the necessary bits, look in setup.py in detect_modules() for the module's name.
(Fink package build should have 7 missing)

Failed to build these modules:
_scproxy readline

The issue appears to be that Fink’s readline library package is being shadowed by the system’s non-identical version. We’ll need to fix this.
