Yes, all went fine and is working.

I would *guess* that perhaps it was a race between threads that made one thread try to create a link that already existed,
or there is a bug in the build somewhere that is avoided when that link (to up-to-date library?) exists already?

BTW, upgrading from Mojave I tried your suggestion of getting the base name of all the libraries I had already and doing a reinstall.
My list just had too many (unnecessary) packages with failures, and I do not know enough of what I actually need it was simpler for me to
just install the few additional packages I use.
