Fair enough. I just noticed that
Fink install git
Needed almost 2 hours (MacBook air 2019)
And right now it failed to install emacs26 [1] because it could not
patch gnutls, sigh

Ok, by the way there is no
apt-cache search
As far as I can tell

O yes I was, two more questions if you don't mind.
1. As indicated in https://github.com/fink/fink/issues/223
I should change edit the file /opt/sw/etc/fink.conf and set the
field UseBinaryDist to false. That would allow me to use apt-get
but more as an alias to fink?
2. Would it be possible to install fink and macports on my machine
at least for some time? So would this cause a big mess.
Regards
