I don't know what tools mercurial's 'make deb' expects to be present. If it just runs something similar to 'make install DESTDIR=foo; dpkg-deb -b BARdir FOO.deb' then perhaps it might generate a .deb that the debian tools we carry might read (as long as it was compiled on a macOS machine). However, I don't know if Fink itself would understand a .deb created outside of fink. It's not too difficult to run 'make deb', then see what happens. Hanspeter -- If it's green, it's biology.
