I clean-bootstrapped fink into macOS 11.3.1 and everything went well. I ran fink selfupdate-git and it took awhile, but completed successfully. Then when I tried to install slrn, things went bad... fink install slrn Scanning package description files.......... Information about 11019 packages read in 3 seconds. Can't resolve dependency "texi2html" for package "autoconf2.6-2.69-6" (no matching packages/versions found) Exiting with failure. I spliced in the .deb files from backups for the missing dependencies and got... fink install slrn Information about 11019 packages read in 2 seconds. Can't resolve dependency "help2man" for package "libtool2-2.4.6-4" (no matching packages/versions found) Exiting with failure. One more try... fink install slrn Scanning package description files.......... Information about 11019 packages read in 3 seconds. Can't resolve dependency "locale-textdomain-pm5302" for package "texinfo-6.3-603.1" (no matching packages/versions found) Exiting with failure. This is where I gave up and restored my backed-up /opt/sw. Some of the packages I had tried to install went just fine. An equal number gave my these cascading failures.
