Re: Download failures with fftw3-3.3.10-1

   Unfortunately I've now found that the fix that worked for curl on OSX 10.14.6 does not work on OSX 10.11.6.  

   I have an older system (early 2009 Mac Pro) running OSX 10.11.6 with fink 0.45.3, XCode 8.2.1 (8C1002) and xQuartz 2.8.1 (xorg-server 1.20.11).  On that system I again found curl had status "archived", and re-installing it changed its status to "current" (just as happened on the 10.14.6 system).  However, on this older system the symptoms for curl failing due to invalid certificates were unchanged after re-installation of curl, consequently no updates currently succeed on that system as all downloads fail.

   I don't really need to use the older system much any more, but I thought I should report this.  I'm happy to test any suggested solutions.

Hi Hanspeter, 

   Great - that worked.  Interestingly, I found that fink's curl was already present but archived, though I have no idea of the history that led to that situation.  I'm pretty sure it's not something I did myself.  After re-installation of curl, download now works again.

    I don't know the cause of the failure, but if you install Fink's curl, 
    then it'll work. Something happened around Oct 1 with the built-in 
    certificates that Apple's curl uses.
