I’m surprised that the proper path wasn’t selected by default, but I haven’t looked at the bootstrap code recently to see what happens on 10.13. Fink has always supported installation into a non-default path so installing into /opt/sw should work fine.

/św was removed as the default path because 10.14 and later OS versions have strict requirements about where non-system files can be installed.
