Hi fink Project users, I'm migrating from a 12-years-old MacBook Pro running OS 10.9 to a newer MacBook Pro (16-inch 2019, one of the latest with Intel chips). I've been using fink on Mac since at least 2006. I plan to do a fresh install of fink on my newer MacBook Pro, which currently runs OS13.7.1. (with a vanilla installation). I found various information while browsing through emails posted in Marsh to the "fink-beginners" mailing list. I read in the email sent by Robert Wyatt (2025-03-04 09:34:34) that it was possible to install fink on a Mac (but its Mac has a M4 Pro chip), running OS15 (with a vanilla installation) by simply following the instructions on the project page (https://www.finkproject.org/index.php?phpLang=en). Therefore, before installing fink the same way on my MacBook Pro, I plan to update its operating system to OS15 (and update Xcode). On the other hand, after the email of R. Wyatt, I've seen also several posts from fink users having trouble installing fink on an Intel-chip Mac running OS15. But it seems they had problems because fink was already installed before the migration to OS15. Do confirm it is be possible to do successfully a fresh install of fink on an intel-chip MacBook Pro, running OS15 (with a vanilla installation)? Thanks in advance for your advice, Eric _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list [email protected] List archive: https://sourceforge.net/p/fink/mailman/fink-users/ Subscription management: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-beginners
