After a 2-year hiatus, sudo fink selfupdate fails

My fink version is 0.45.6 and my macos is Catalina, 10.15.7.

I haven't used fink since July 2023.

But i would like to install a certain fink package, so i tried to run
sudo fink selfupdate

I actually tried 3 or 4 times over the last 24 hours.

Every time it fails during rsyncing, and the error is the same: code 10.

I'd appreciate any help or information or suggestions on how to deal with
the situation, and thanks in advance.
