My apologies for the oversight on the first test.

Perhaps linking gcc-4.2 and g++-4.2 to clang and clang++ respectively would be better? There are several packages that do not compile with the llvm tools (cdrtools, libvorbis0, gc are three that come to mind, but none of them suffer from the gcc detection problem previously described).
