No, you don't.

No, it doesn't.

Your inability to install dpkg-1.10.21-1231 in your current setup
doesn't block updating all of the other package descriptions or affect
your ability to install other packages.  The only way you would be
blocked would be for a package that actually carried some kind of
versioned dependency on dpkg-1.10.21.1231.

Don't cc across multiple Fink lists, please.  That makes it harder to
search the list archives if a problem comes up again.

The dpkg update didn't actually change anything in the _build_, because
it was just to create a file in the postinstall.  You're seeing a
problem which has presumably existed all along.
