Now that the automake split (a set of orthogonal automake1.XX-core with versioned files and a set of mutually exclusive automake1.XX dependent on them with generic filenames) is done, there is a dependency deadlock via autoconf. The am1.XX-core have Depends:autoconf2.6 but lots of packages use BuildDepends:autoconf,automake1.XX and autoconf2.6 and autoconf are mutually exclusive. Cannot install ac because it wants to displace ac2.6 and ac2.6 cannot be removed because am1.XX-core depends on it and am1.XX depends on that. Can am1.XX-core have Depends:ac2.6|ac (allowing either autoconf flavor)? Or can we push promptly the same type of conversion of autoconf* to autoconf*-core and have am1.XX-core hardcode pointers to the versioned ac stuff? dan -- Daniel Macks [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Don't let slow site performance ruin your business.
