EOL for 10.6 at the end of May 2014

Unless, of course, somebody has a compelling argument why the project 
needs to keep supporting 4 OS X versions in two distribution trees. 
Keep in mind the following notes:

1)  The opinions of active maintainers carry more weight than those of 
folks who are just reading the lists. :-)

2)  As always, individual maintainers will be free to make package 
updates for 10.6 (and earlier OS X), but they will be responsible for 
cleaning up any messes they leave.
