Well “fink reinstall fink” which one does for an upgrade will overwrite that Services.pm file that is the issue. Cheap fix, edit Services.pm and change the line 1370 from die “<message>” ; to print(“<message>\n”) ; Correct fix from Hanspeter: Get the uptodate GitHub dpkg1.16 branch that works on Big Sur/Monterey. Issue command ./inject.pl /opt/sw This should make fink on the correct version for Big Sur/Monterey. But I haven’t gotten it to work for me.
