Have you run `/opt/sw/bin/pathsetup.sh` ? That should have run 
automatically after your initial Fink install and sets up your startup 
scripts (.bash_profile or .zprofile) to have Fink added to your PATH. If 
$PATH doesn't show /opt/sw/bin, you can re-run the script and new 
Terminal windows should now work.
