Help with creating fink package

I am trying to put together a boto3 package. I was trying to make it as boiler plate as possible.
It is a python package so it is both-py37 etc. In making the package is there a % variable that is just the base name of the package? %n %N %{ni} and %{Ni} don’t cut it, they give boto3-py38 or boto3-py and not just the “boto3” that I am looking for. It seems that there should be such a variable? Or am I just dreaming.
