emacs support for 28/29

Hi

Some months ago, we discussed to upgrade the fink emacs version to
either 28 or 29. I sort of volunteered (I am an active GNU emacs user (I
even use the developer version)), but only found the time now to
look into this.

I, however, forget the details how to provide the necessary patch.

Can somebody please enlighten me, again.
