There is a distribution-restriction on go: version 1.14.6 is for OS X <= 10.11 and version 1.16.6 is for OS X 10.12-11.3. Hanspeter, it seems like your reason for the limits would allow 1.16.6 to be suitable for 12.x also. But I don't have a 12.x sandbox to test it.
