I installed TheSin dpkg 1.16 version awhile ago. Using Rosetta and X86 mode I have updated it and until recently it has worked fine.

Monterey 12.6.2
Darwin 21.6.0

But the latest self update almost completed and then fails with a perl error
Already up to date.

As far as I can tell it is using the fink.info <http://fink.info/> file in the injected folder. “Fink reinstall fink” fails with
> Information about 14086 packages read in 1 seconds.
> no package found for "fink"
> Failed: no package found for specification 'fink'!

If I go ahead and try to update-all it fails sine it is unable to update cmake since it can’t find fink to update fink?

What have I done to confuse fink so thoroughly. I can update from scratch if necessary.

Related: What is the best form for installing fink on:
Catalina	10.15.x
Big Sur	11.x.x
Monterey 12.x.x
Ventures	13.x.x

Is the process still:
> git clone https://github.com/TheSin-/fink
> cd fink
> git checkout dpkg1.16
> ./bootstrap

In addition for testing on arm64, it was recommended to
> git pull [email protected]:dhomeier/fink.git dpkg1.16
> before ./bootstrap, but as I mentioned, it may still require some manual fixes during bootstrap.

However that git command has no access as far as I can tell. Is there some secret incantation to get this access?
