the first method did not work

cd /opt/sw/share/texmf-dist/fonts/map/dvips
sudo rm algolrevived/AlgolRevived.map baskervillef/Baskervillef.map
sudo rm montserrat/Montserrat.map countriesofeurope/countriesofeurope.map
fink reinstall texlive-texmf
fink reinstall texlive

the maps had again the inverted case.



This other method worked well

An alternative is to rename the files back to their expected case, then try reinstalling texlive:
algolrevived/algolrevived.map
baskervillef/baskervillef.map
montserrat/montserrat.map
countriesofeurope/CountriesOfEurope.map

What's the output of the following command?
dpkg -S algolrevived.map AlgolRevived.map baskervillef.map
Here is the output

That's backwards from the expected values.

algolrevived.map, baskervillef.map, and montserrat.map should exist as the lowercase versions only, while CountriesOfEurope.map should be in CamelCase. But in your installation, they're all backwards.

The files belong to texlive-texmf. Can you try deleting those 4 files then reinstalling texlive-texmf?

cd /opt/sw/share/texmf-dist/fonts/map/dvips
sudo rm algolrevived/AlgolRevived.map baskervillef/Baskervillef.map
sudo rm montserrat/Montserrat.map countriesofeurope/countriesofeurope.map
fink reinstall texlive-texmf

The only way I can think this might have happened is if this was an existing texlive-texmf install and the files were renamed to the opposite case and then a texlive update was tried for Ventura.
