libiconv-1.16-3 fails to build

When running the ./bootstrap script on a new machine, I'm getting errors
compiling libiconv-1.16-3 (all very sensible issues about incompatible
pointer types). My new machine is outside the officially supported range of
MacOS versions, so it could be due to that; but I wanted to check here
first to see if there are any known issues regarding libiconv?

macOS: 14.7
