Hello Hanspeter, Thank you for the explanation. It explains the reference to virtual package that pops up to make a choice for tex with or without X11. Tho answer your question. No, I don't know of any special feature in my current TexLive install that I presem would not also be in the Fink version. I do weekly run of tlmgr to keep it up to date. That works fine for me. On a recent attempt to install svn I got rather annoyed that it required to install Tex, which happened through dependencies on two rather basic libraries. libserf1 and libaprutil. The tex install needs over 25 packages. That install fails on the build libharfbuzz0 which I reported earlier. I'll heed your advice and move to the fink install, expecting it to support my use of tlmgr. Finally, I thank you for all the work on Fink over these many, many years Cheers Eduard Hanspeter Niederstrasser wrote on 07/10/2024 01:30: > On 10/6/24 1:12 PM, Eduard Karel de Jong wrote: >> Hello Tomoaki, >> >> Maybe you know I can I convince fink to use my already installed >> TexLive? >> >> It is in /Library/TeX/texbin/ > > Fink used to have a system-texlive package long ago to work when the > user had an external install of texlive.
