I am away from my development systems, but it is weird that fink rebuilds the executables luajittex and luajithbtex which seem to be valid in the build directories. Then during installation, it installs in /opt/sw/bin/ non working versions that “file” lists as “malformed executables”. The sizes are wrong. If I copy the build working executables to the /opt/sw/bin directory and try to reinstall, it still fails as they are overwritten early in the install process.

Where is the install process getting that corrupted executable from? Why isn’t it using the rebuilt versions?

If it fails on luajithbtex, then also add # to the line immediately above the one you edited first. What's interesting is that I have a system with macOS 13.6.3 and don't get this failure.
