Hi Scott,

I follow your procedure and check what fink thinks is system-perl
here it is:

giuliano@FGs-MacBook-Pro:/Users/giuliano/Desktop> fink list system-perl
Information about 15391 packages read in 1 seconds.
i system-perl 5.34.1-1 [virtual package representing perl]
p system-perl5341 [virtual package]

However, if I run fink self update, fink update-all I have an error

giuliano@FGs-MacBook-Pro:/Users/giuliano/Desktop> fink selfupdate
Password:

I will now run the git command to retrieve the latest package descriptions. The 'su' command will be used to run the git
command as the user 'giuliano'. After that, the core packages will be updated right away; you should then update the
other packages using commands like 'fink update-all'.

/usr/bin/su giuliano -c '/usr/bin/git fetch --quiet origin'
/usr/bin/su giuliano -c '/usr/bin/git checkout --quiet master'
/usr/bin/su giuliano -c '/usr/bin/git merge --ff-only --quiet origin/master'

fink needs help picking an alternative to satisfy a virtual dependency. The candidates:

(1) texlive-base: Base programs for a TeX Live installation
(2) texlive-nox-base: Base programs for a TeX Live installation

Pick one: [1]

Fink thinks system-perl is 5.34.1-1, but the dependency asks for 5303

Hmm. My guess now is that you did not rebuild intltool after updating your system from 13 to 14. Thus the dependency on the old system-perl and not the new updated system perl. There is a separate build of intltool for different distributions. For some reason I see only a OS version 15 package on my OS 15 / Intel system.

Try rebuild intltool and reinstall.

This is one reason a clean install and update of your favorite utilities is always a good idea when changing OS versions.
