This is a known general problem when updating Fink from 10.5 to 10.6. 
For this general problem, no general solution is known so far, apart 
from erasing Fink and reinstalling from scratch. You can either do that 
or wait until a solution is proposed, or run the following command every 
time this kind of error pops up:

   sudo find /sw/lib -name \*\.la -delete

Then re-run the failed install command.
