Auto-reply edit needed for fink-beginners Hello all, This is my first post to this list; I've been told that while this list is primarily for translation it also covers documentation aspects of fink, ie it is more suited for suggestions on editing the webpage & I hope it's the right spot for the mailing lists too. Once you subscribe to fink-beginners you get an autoreply with the following included: Some tutorials on how to use the command line interface provided through Terminal.app: <http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/mac/2001/12/14/terminal_one.html> Following this link yields: However, none of the first three parts of the series will work in Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) or newer. Hello all,
This is my first post to this list; I've been told that while this
list is primarily for translation, it also covers documentation
aspects of fink, ie it is more suited for suggestions on editing the
webpage (& I hope it's the right spot for the mailing lists too).
Once you subscribe to fink-beginners you get an autoreply with the
following included:

> Some tutorials on how to use the command line
> interface provided through Terminal.app:
> <http://www.macosx.org/clitutorial.html>

It appears that it was last updated 9/25/2002 to include 10.1.5.
As can be seen from this quote this tutorial is rather old. I'd
recommend either noting it in the autoreply (for users of OS X 10.0
thru 10.1.5) or taking this reference out & replacing it with a
different tutorial link entirely. New users are likely to be really
confused by this, especially if they don't notice the disclaimer at
the front of the article in italics.

The second link is also confusing:
> Macosx gives you the latest info on clitutorial to learn more about
> clitutorial check your favorite search engine or contact us with
> clitutorial in the subject of your email.
What exactly is this page supposed to be telling the person who
clicks through to it? If you click on its link you go to:
http://www.macosx.org/
which was last updated 2/21/04.
Clicking any of the links on that page takes you back to the previous
seemingly nonsensical page. ???
I'd recommend just completely removing that macosx.org link. It
appears to be really out of date & no longer maintained at all.
Have a good day,
Brandon Potter
