Several other percent-expansions are documented as "the [something],
e.g. [default]. You must not assume that [default is always correct]".
It might be a bit wordy, but it needs to drive home the point that
assuming the default is always the case is a fatal mistake.

So for %p/%P, how about "the prefix where Fink is installed, e.g. /sw.
You must not assume all users have Fink installed in /sw; use %p to
get the correct path."
