Why do you suppose users speak only one language, then can speak 
several and want to practice some, then read in other language than 
theirs. Then he could also have fun read some other languages. And I 
don't see anything insane in it, more I see open minds in it.

I stated them and I told I did not think this leads to more 
translation, I did say more than once that a good way to have more 
translations done is firstly to be really active and reactive on the 
lists, not simply say people go help us and let them drop alone 
thereafter. Second I told that putting a call in native forum is a 
better way, and that not just to say it, but because I've done it and 
it had results.

For me useless clicks are not fictional, nor esoterical, even less 
technical and far less unproven, but well, I'm not sick :-) But you're 
right, it's useless (fights or clicks I let you judge, don't have make 
my mind about it till now :-).
