Your text is really interesting. I remember having to go through Mr.
Kubota's "introduction" when I was a debian _user_ looking for a
bilingual (fr/jp) setting in a non-X environment. Lack of utf support
in most apps made the thing really difficult.
I expected a lot more from Apple when they delivered OSX not only in
terms of i18n, but "also" m17n at the terminal/X level but was a little
disappointed. Your introduction is a nice first step for people to
understand the issues at stake.
