I would like to propose splitting the list in two: [email protected] and hackers-/[email protected] I use the word "hackers" as a synonym for "developers," like the *BSD and other mailing lists are prone to do, but this is certainly open for discussion. The rationale behind this is twofold. First of all, I was planning to move this list to bsdevents.org anyway. There is significant interest in not having organizational ties (e.g., with Daemon News and other commercial entities), which is the primary reason for the move. But relocating it just makes more sense. :-) Secondly, bsdevents.org and bsdadvocacy.org are currently separate projects. As such, it should be straightforward that not everyone will necessarily want to work on both sites. So, out of convenience to these individuals, we should have 2 lists. If there are no objections, I will volunteer to set up the mailing lists if the respective sysadmins would install list software (e.g. mailman). I see that bsdevents.org already has such software in place so I will move the archives there and configure the list this week. Joshua: How are you operating bsdadvocacy.org? If you're issuing shell accounts, I'd like to have one. -- Anthony Chavez Daemon News mailto:acc-XvSzoi6dgTOSihdK6806/[email protected] http://www.daemonnews.org/
