"because he runs the server" i dont think that make someone important. server is something you can get everywhere - we could also get our project get hosted on sourceforge for example. "because he has \"lots of free time\"" you know that retired persons also have lots of free time. we need to select people by their qualifications and by their past efforts, not by their message count in the mailinglist. 90% of the messages that have been posted do not contain any new information. it was mainly going round a circle. this is why i only post when i think it is necassary not because i want to show i am alive. the only person that showed good work is stacy who did the send pr which i found good work. has anyone of the rest (incl. me) done any public relations work? i did an freebsd 5.0 article, i founded a usergroup, and on the upcoming opensource event in my country i am going to hold a speach and i am going to organize i freebsd booth. i also maintain ports and regularly send patches. perhaps this shows that i am interested in freebsd and not someone who just says "yes i want..." but does nothing. i also started hacking of the events database and i remember to be the first who said _yes we need something like that, when somebody suggested to improve public relations. greets, josef
