So it seems there is a lot of unmaintained cruft [1] (I will need to???) that needs to be taken care of. For now, I have a hacky patch that "works for me". I am not sure I feel this should ever make it out of test while it is excluding of GST python plugins to prevent a segfault. The following package has been uploaded to the Cygwin distribution: * virt-manager-5.1.0-1 This application provides a graphical tool for managing virtual machines via the libvirt library. The UI is primarily tested with KVM, but is intended to be reasonably portable to any virtualization backend libvirt supports. So, regarding the orphaned gstreamer1.0 and gstreamer1.0-python packages. I have no idea if I can and when I can bring the up to date from 2018-04-09. Assign to me? 1: $ ./build/virt-manager (virt-manager:104743): GSpice-WARNING **: 08:14:55.028: Error initializing USB hotplug support: Operation not supported or unimplemented on this platform [-12] (virt-manager:104743): GSpice-WARNING **: 08:14:55.048: Error initializing USB hotplug support: Operation not supported or unimplemented on this platform [-12] /usr/lib/python3.6/importlib/_bootstrap.py:219: Warning: g_boxed_type_register_static: assertion 'g_type_from_name (name) == 0' failed return f(*args, **kwds) ERROR: Caught a segmentation fault while loading plugin file: /usr/lib/gstreamer-1.0/cyggstpythonplugin.cpython-36m-x86_64-cygwin.dll Please either: - remove it and restart. - run with --gst-disable-segtrap --gst-disable-registry-fork and debug. -Jason -- Problem reports: https://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: https://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: https://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: https://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
