Dear Cygwin Team,

As a State of Texas agency, we have procurement requirements mandating that all software and technology we procure and utilize must meet federal Section 508 accessibility standards.

Your software, Cygwin, is currently on our approved Approved Software list. We are reaching out because we want to ensure that we maintain the most current Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR), formally referred to as a VPAT, available for your software in our internal compliance records.

For your convenience, here is a brief breakdown of the requested terminology:
* VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template): This is a standardized, blank template created by the Information Technology Industry Council (ITIC) used to document a product's accessibility.

* ACR (Accessibility Conformance Report): This is the final, completed document generated when your team fills out the VPAT template with your specific testing results and compliance findings.

Because our organization must align specifically with federal Section 508 regulations, you can download the exact template required for our review directly via the ITIC VPAT Resource Hub. Please specifically use the VPAT 2.5Rev 508 (April 2025) edition located in their download directory.

If your team is new to this framework, ITIC provides comprehensive YouTube videos and an instructional slide deck to guide you through the reporting process. These materials can be accessed directly on the ITIC VPAT Training Page.

We thank you in advance for any assistance that you can provide in fulfilling this request for accessibility documentation.

Sincerely,
Grace Marshall
