For what it's worth, I have now duplicated the exact same thing on a second Windows 11 Pro system (everything is pretty much the same between the two Windows systems).
That is, syslog-ng will background and run, but nothing appears in /var/log/messageswhatever; any attempt to run syslog-ng with either or both -F, -d results in the libglib2_0.0 error.

I ran syslog-ng -s -d -v (and I also tried it explicitly specifying the .conf file, syslog-ng -s -d -v -f /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf) and the output more or less matches what we've seen posted here by me and some months earlier by annihilanic.
Question: with the -s option (to syntax check the .conf file), and particularly when the -s option is accompanied by -d -v, shouldn't the sources and destinations specified in the .conf file appear in the -s -d -v run output? I don't see that; just the various modules (and the complaints about trying to import modules more than once, as we see in the logs that had been posted here).
