I do not know much about the dfly audio drivers, but I had a great success
with envy24 based cards under FreeBSD.  In particular, M-Audio Audiophile
2496 works amazingly well for me with OSS drivers.  It has both optical
and coax SPDIF and analog outputs, and I'm using all of them.
