Switched back to locally pulled head (commit base be9295deedd1) and reverted
commit base 3e3fd1fde8e1 alone resolved the issue.

Now found more commits are done to stand/after commit base be9295deedd1.
Reading the diffs, seemingly wouldn't affect (fixes for GCC and SPDX), but to
be sure, will try upgrading again with reverted commit base 3e3fd1fde8e1 alone.

I'll report back once the upgrade finishes.
