Bug ID: 296998
Summary: HID_ITEM_MAXUSAGE is not tunable
Product: Base System
Version: CURRENT
Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Some People
Priority: ---
Component: kern
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
I'm installing 16-CURRENT on a new laptop (Acer Nitro V 15), and my dmesg is
full of this line:
hid_get_item: HID_ITEM_MAXUSAGE should be increased up to 17 to parse the HID
report descriptor
See
https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/hid_get_item-hid_item_maxusage-should-be-increased.103363/
It appears that the only way to fix it is to recompile!
This is not user-friendly, and we could do better: maybe some configuration
variable, or a sysctl parameter?
