I have a small "cube" computer with an adapter that identifies and wants the
above package.  I forgot to add it into the NanoBSD 15.1-STABLE build I put
together for said machine. As soon as the device was enumerated I got a message
on boot (either in single or multi-user) that the firmware file it wanted was
missing followed by an immediate panic.

That package being missing should result in the driver failing to initialize of
course but not panic -- since the box cannot start if you try to load FreeBSD
from ISO media or similar where that package is missing you're hosed because
that firmware file is not going to be in the base load and you can't get
running in order to fetch it.

With the firmware file present the machine boots and runs; I have not attempted
to use the WiFi interface however as it is not useful in the environment where
this system lives.
