            Bug ID: 297673
Summary: uart: Denverton (C3758R) system locks up when userland
                    accesses the uart
           Product: Base System
           Version: 15.0-RELEASE
          Hardware: amd64
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: kern
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

with this uart:

uart2: <Intel Denverton UART> port 0xe060-0xe067 mem 0xdfc08000-0xdfc080ff at
device 26.0 on pci0
uart2: Using 1 MSI message
uart2: console (115200,n,8,1)

the BIOS and FreeBSD kernel boot works fine over the serial port, but as soon
as a userland process uses the port, the system becomes unresponsive and has to
be power cycled. this is triggered by /etc/rc if booting on serial, or getty
if enabling /dev/ttyu2 in /etc/ttys after boot.
